Jim Jones, Entertainers 4 Education Alliance & HOT 97 has teamed up to present the "Achieve Your Dreams Poetry Contest" to inspire and encourage inner city youth to dare to dream. Students will write a poem about achieving their dreams just like Jim Jones is achieving his.
Deadline for submission is Friday November 30th, 2006.
PRIZES:
The Grand-prize winner will be awarded a book stipend to pay for all books for the first year of college and summer internship working directly with Jim Jones and Diplomat Records
FIVE runner-ups will meet Jim Jones and receive a personal autographed poster or/a picture at the Grand Finale event scheduled for Wednesday December 13th 2006 at a secret location.
Contest Rules.
Eligibility:
¨ This contest is only open to High School Seniors and Juniors in NYC & Tri State Areas.
 We will only accept one entry per poet per contest. All entries must be 30 lines or fewer
¨ Only entries received prior to the deadline are included in the contest.
Decisions:
Jim Jones, the staff of the Entertainers 4 Education will judge poems based on originality, imagination, characterization, artistic quality, and the adherence to line limits and deadlines. All judges' decisions are final.
Fees: No entry fees, no subsidy payments, and no purchase of any kind are required to enter and win the contest.
Rights: All poems remain the property of the artist
Notification: The top six finalist will be notified
